Went SCUBA diving for the first time in my life with my wife who’s already certified. It was for our one year anniversary.

This is me 10m below the surface on the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. My wife took this picture from the back of the boat as it was pulling away leaving me behind… Just kidding Although she did take the photo. There are many other photos where I look really awkward trying to look cool and collected underwater. We’ll keep those ones for a later post.

At first I thought my mild claustrophobia would kick in and I’d panic. However, as soon as we were under the water, and I realized how easy it was to breath I just relaxed and everything fell into place. It was one of the most amazing feelings I’ve had in my life. To be breathing and flying through the water like a fish (although a very clumsy fish) was incredible.

There is only one downside to all this. Having tried SCUBA for the first time in one of the most beautiful dive spots on the planet, is gonna make it very hard for any other sites to stack up.
